Design Technology - Intermediate CADD

This is a Design Technology course in intermediate computer-aided design and drafting. This is primarily a full laboratory course which emphasizes practice over theory. It is assumed students have completed a basic course in drafting fundamentals and CAD application software. Instructors are assumed to have more than an elementary familiarity with AutoCAD. Requires access to AutoCAD drawing application.

Review drawing setup procedures

Review drawing setup. Instructor demonstrate how to create a blank drawing template including inserting a title block. Students will create their own templates for this and subsequent exercises. Practice using the DIMENSION command.

Architectural Building Section and Details

This is a multi-day lesson. Students will learn to draw, dimension, and section simple architectural structures using CAD software. Use the daily lesson guide with the exercise drawings to complete the assignments. Begin this lesson with the Architectural Title Block assignment.
