Module Title: Computer Technology
Course Description:
Computer technology is an engineering course
that emphasizes the practical study of computer hardware, and information
technology. Students will learn the techniques of PC computer construction and
repair. In addition, students will also learn some of the science of computer
technology, the business aspects of computer assembly and the ecological
procedure of recycling computer parts.
This course is to be taken in conjunction with other WSV engineering/technology courses. To enroll in computer technology you must first take Studying
Engineering/Technology. This course is designed as an intensive
six-week module and may not be taken twice for credit.
Classroom Media:
An extensive supply of used computers and parts are
available for student exploration and experimentation.

3. Identifying computer components
4. Diagnosing computer problems
5. Computer science
6. New computer construction
7. The economics of Silicon Valley
8. Recycling and the environment
9. Computer business
Safety:
The first unit of this course will detail the basic safety
procedures. Safety is the primary concern of any work environment. Students
who cannot work together in a safe manner will be removed from class.
