Week 2 This week exposes students to some materials and their characteristics. Examples related to types of material failure and causes are to be addressed. |
Week 3 This week discusses various structure configurations in materials with respect to their performance. Microscopic and macroscopic approaches are to be employed. |
Week 4 This week works on the structural analysis using simple testing apparatus. Three major types of properties (mechanical, physical, and chemical) will be addressed. |
Week 5 This week deals with the processing techniques for shaping materials to products. The interrelationships among processing, structure and properties will be emphasized. |
Week 6 This week exploits career paths in the field of materials engineering and technology. Future applications of materials will be discussed. |
