Week 1 Summary: This week introduces students to Materials Engineering and Technology. Basic types of materials are to be examined by simple tests.


Week 2 Summary: This week exposes students to some materials and their characteristics. Examples related to types of material failure and causes are to be addressed.


Week 3 Summary: This week discusses various structure configurations in materials with respect to their performance. Microscopic and macroscopic approaches are to be employed.


Week 4 Summary: This week works on the structural analysis using simple testing apparatus. Three major types of properties (mechanical, physical, and chemical) will be addressed.


Week 5 Summary: This week deals with the processing techniques for shaping materials to products. The interrelationships among processing, structure and properties will be emphasized.


Week 6 Summary: This week exploits career paths in the field of materials engineering and technology. Future applications of materials will be discussed.
