e-waste science and technology module information

We've made this module by design more flexible than some of our other offerings.  Teachers are offered extra materials, more content and activity options and enough variety in the lessons and options to embrace many varied teaching and learning styles.

Classroom computers are desirable but not required.  Many of the activities take advantage of interactive web sites, and there are plenty of opportunities for students to use the internet for research, study, or drill. Most of the activities can be presented without classroom computers.

Science and Engineering Fairs ideas:  For the six week research project (see lesson plans) students may want to design a science fair experiment or an engineering design project related to E-Waste, its causes, effects and hazards.

Combine this curriculum with public service, public awareness awareness projects (e.g., a school wide cleanup or recycling collection).  Go EPA for ideas.  Incorporate Earth Day lessons and activities into the calendar.
